Akitas tend to live 11-13 years.
It is widely known Akitas may be intolerant of other dogs, particularly of the same sex. A Reputable breeder will typically not place the same sex akita in an akita home. It can work and sometimes people do have same sex akita’s but please note there is a lot of work involved. We often say “it works till it doesn’t”. For the average owner who just wants a happy home it is recommended to have opposite sex if you have two. A nonreputbable breeder will not care nor will they ask questions and often if they hear you have a male will not care you want another male. This is a red flag and you should not continue embarking down this path with this breeder.
